The spotted apple snail (Pomacea maculata) is a large freshwater snail native to South America. It's known for its pale olive green shell with faint dark bands and spotted interior near the aperture. While generally considered a less invasive species compared to the golden apple snail (P. canaliculata), it has still been introduced to various parts of the world, including North America and Asia, often through the aquarium trade.
