The apple snail is a curious invertebrate with a reputation that precedes it. Colour variations are plentiful with this snail species. You can get them with shells covered in gold, brown, pink, red, and more. Some even have stripes and multiple colours. The flesh is usually brown, white, or yellow, but there’s a lot of variety there, too. Apple snails do eat microscopic vegetation (microphagous) that grows on stones, the wall of the tank etc., but don't expect them to 'clean' the tank completely from algae. If you want your snails to get out of the water, just attach some food partly above the waterline.
