Scarlet Badis

The Scarlet Badis is part of the Perch family. They keep a small territory just like a ram cichlid and will defend their area. They can be fussy eaters as they will not accept standard dried food. They thrive on natural foods like seed shrimp and copepods which they will hunt out. frozen Blood worms may also be accepted. We recommend a maximum of 2 individuals for a 60L aquarium. It is sexually dimorphic, with males growing larger and more colorful, especially when excited, compared to females. Adult males have blue fins and may display dark vertical bands on the flanks, while the smaller females display little color.
