Size: Typically grows to about 12-18 inches (30-45 cm) in length, though larger specimens can reach up to 24 inches (60 cm). They are nocturnal and more active during the night. During the day, they often hide in crevices or burrow in the substrate. They are generally solitary and territorial and can be aggressive towards other eels or fish that invade their space.
